Fishing, Crabbing, and Boating in Waters Surrounding Pleasure IslandSabine Lake, about 14 miles long and 7 miles wide with an average depth of 5 to 8 feet, is the most productive marine ecosystem in the states of Texas and Louisiana. It is a fisherman's paradise for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder. Public boat ramps are available at several locations on Pleasure Island. Fishing is allowed from most of the island coastline.
